I qualified as a Chartered Management Accountant on 17th May 1995—it was a Wednesday (because dates and figures matter when you’re an accountant, right?).

After climbing the corporate ladder and holding senior finance roles, including Divisional Finance Director of a national recruitment agency, I decided in 2002 that it was time for a change.

I swapped boardrooms for baby bottles and balance sheets, choosing to go self-employed so I could be at home for my little cherubs. What started as a way to work around family life quickly turned into something I absolutely love—helping real people, running real businesses, to get their finances in order and grow with confidence.

For the past 22+ years, I’ve had the privilege of working with incredible business owners—some starting out from spare rooms, others running multi-million-pound companies—and I’ve been there every step of the way. Whether it’s been financial advice, a bit of humour, or just a friendly ear, I’ve seen first-hand how the right support can make a huge difference. And honestly? It’s been far more rewarding than corporate life ever was.
